In soyabean Merit in 1973, 1975 and 1976, reduction in water supply during July led to a decrease in seed yield and this was increased if water supply had also been limited during June. Limited water supply in June did not affect seed yield or quality if the supply during July was not limiting. Increased water supply during Aug. had no effect.
