In field trials in 1972-4, NAR, LAI and CGR were determined for (a) B. inermis Budzynska and (b) B. unioloides Una given annual applications of 120, 240 or 360 kg N + 100 kg P2O5 + 120 kg K2O/ha. (b) produced a higher yield of above-ground biomass and a lower yield of below-ground biomass than (a).
