Effect of diethylcarbamazine citrate on clinical, haematological and biochemical aspects in experimental theileriasis in bull-calves

Effect of diethylcarbamazine citrate on clinical, haematological and biochemical aspects in experimental theileriasis in bull-calves

Veterinary Research Journal 3(2): 91-95

Five calves experimentally infected with Theileria annulata were treated with diethylcarbamazine citrate (DEC) administered intramuscularly in daily 22 mg/kg doses for 3 days, repeated after an interval of 4 days; 5 similar calves received a single 50 mg/kg dose. All of 5 untreated calves died within 59 days, whereas all calves receiving the single dose of DEC and 4 of those receiving the multiple doses survived.
