Effect of different sources and levels of P on the performance and P uptake of Ife-Brown variety of cowpea

Effect of different sources and levels of P on the performance and P uptake of Ife-Brown variety of cowpea

Ghana Journal of Agricultural Science 10(1): 71-75

In field trials, cowpea Ife Brown was grown on an Iwo soil and given 0, 15, 30, 60 or 90 kg P/ha as superphosphate, converted bone, basic slag or rock phosphate. Seed yield was increased with P application up to 30 kg P/ha, and converted bone and superphosphate gave significantly higher yields than rock phosphates or basic slag. In a pot trial, Ife Brown was grown on an Ibadan soil and given P as above and harvested after 11 wk.
