Effect of edible fungus treated poultry droppings on broiler chicks

Effect of edible fungus treated poultry droppings on broiler chicks

Indian Journal of Poultry Science 16(2): 138-141

The moisture content of a mixture of dried poultry droppings and wheat bran (2:1) was adjusted to 41%. After autoclaving at 121 deg C for 25 minutes the cooled mixture was inoculated with Pleurotus astreatus, incubated at 25 deg C for 15 days, dried at 80 deg C for 16 h and powdered. Each of 7 diets were fed to duplicate groups of broilers from 1 to 6 weeks of age. Diets 1 to 4 had 0, 5, 10 or 15%, respectively, of dried poultry droppings.
