In field trials in the Char area of Gafargaon, Mymensingh in 1977-8 the effects of 0-78.52 kg N/ha and 0-168.28 kg K/ha on sweet potato (a) Local Lal and (b) Local Sadha were studied. Length of vine/plot, number of tuberous roots/plant and tuberous root length were not affected by treatments. The number of branches/plant and wt. of vines/plot were max. with 78.52 kg N/ha and no K. Tuber yields ranged from 22.14 t/ha with no fertilizers to 29.13 t with 39.26 kg N + 84.14 kg K/ha.
