A field trial was carried out at Pelotas to determine the best rate of fertilizer N for grain sorghum in the SE region of Rio Grande do Sul. N was applied at 0, 60, 120, 180 or 240 kg/ha (33% at sowing and 67% 45 days later) to the sorghum hybrid NK-233 grown on low-fertility soil.
