Effect of seeding methods and nitrogen fertilizer on yield and yield components of Giza 157 and Sakha 8 wheat cultivars, Triticum aestivum L

In field trials at Sids in 1977-9, wheat (a) Giza 157 and (b) Sakha 8 were broadcast sown or were sown in rows at 15 or 30 cm spacing and given 0, 50 or 75 kg N/feddan. Grain yields were higher in (b) than (a) but the difference was only significant in 1977-8 at (a) 8.17 and (b) 9.74 ardeb/feddan.
