In a field trial in 1976 at Paysandu, (a) 3, (b) 5, (c) 7 or (d) 10 kg seed/ha of white clover Yi was sown on 4 April and cut in Sept. after 97 days. Max. DM yields were given by (b), (c) and (d) (0.69, 0.82 and 0.84 t/ha, resp.), that of (a) being significantly lower (0.37 t). The percentage of weeds in (a) (26.33%) was significantly higher than in (b), (c) and (d) (14.14, 9.13 and 5.95%, resp.). Seed was harvested on 29 Dec.
