Effect of systematic application of fertilizers on productivity of crops in 4-course rotation on leached chernozem soil. 1. Wheat

Effects of the systematic application of fertilizers on grain yields of wheat grown in a 4-field crop rotation in 1959-78 on leached chernozem soil are described. Av. yields increased 46% with N, 12.5% with P, 5.6% with K and 55.5% with NP. Response to P applied in addition to N was observed in the 4th rotation and increased further in the 5th rotation. During the 20-yr period yield increases were 49% in unfertilized wheat and 155% in that given NP.
