Effect of various antibiotics and sulfa drugs on the symbiotes of Rhizopertha dominica (Fabricius)

Indian Journal of Entomology 42(4): 737-745

A laboratory study was carried out in India to determine the effects of various antibiotics and sulfa drugs on the symbionts of Rhyzopertha dominica (F.), with a view to rendering the insect aposymbiotic. The antibiotics were fed to the insects with their food, and their effects on the symbionts were also studied in vitro.
