Effect of wheel loads on the elevated roads between retaining structures

Journal of Terramechanics 18(2): 91-107

Deformations and stresses of an unpaved soil between two retaining walls under one and two rigid cylindrical wheeled vehicles are given. Rigid wheel assumption provides that the contact area between the wheel and soil is a point. Rigid cylindrical wheels are represented by point loads on the surface. Expressions are given in graphical form for one, two and four point loads which are representation of one or two vehicles with different axle lengths.
