Abstract
5 matched groups of 10 high-yielding cows received sunflowerseed oilmeal, urea, hydrolysed yeast, alkane yeast, or a 1:1 mixture on N content of urea and alkane yeast supplying 17% (1st yr) and 33% (2nd yr) of the digestible protein of the ration. The rations proved equally effective in maintaining milk production.
