Efficacy of insecticidal dusts against developing stages of Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) and Callosobruchus chinensis (Linn.)

Efficacy of insecticidal dusts against developing stages of Callosobruchus maculatus (Fab.) and Callosobruchus chinensis (Linn.)

Indian Journal of Entomology 42(4): 798-802

The effectiveness of 5 insecticidal dusts against the pre-adult stages of Callosobruchus maculatus (F.) and C. chinensis (L.) in various stored seeds was studied in the laboratory in India. Seeds of pigeon pea green gram and lentil were treated 10 days after oviposition by the insects with 10, 20 and 30 p.p.m. dusts of malathion, DDT, lindane, carbaryl and dichlorvos (DDVP) prepared using pyrophyllite as a diluent.
