Experimental studies into oestrous behaviour and ovarian and uterine function in prepubertal gilts following induction of puberty and subsequent synchronisation of oestrus and ovulation

Experimental studies into oestrous behaviour and ovarian and uterine function in prepubertal gilts following induction of puberty and subsequent synchronisation of oestrus and ovulation

Monatshefte fur Veterinarmedizin 37(5): 175-179

16 gilts, aged 194 days and weighing 94 kg, were successively given the following treatments: 500 IU PMSG followed by 250 IU HCG (within days 1-7 of the experiment); 5 g Suisynchron daily (days 15-26); 750 IU PMSG (day 27); 500 IU HCG (day 29). On day 3, 8 females were laparotomised, and 4 females were killed on day 39 and 4 females on day 40.
