Factors affecting growth, yield and fruit composition of Washington Navel and late Valencia orange trees

Factors affecting growth, yield and fruit composition of Washington Navel and late Valencia orange trees

Proceedings of the International Society of Citriculture 1978: 77-86

When both orange cvs were grown for up to 20 months in a greenhouse on their own roots, root growth was doubled by raising the root temperature from 19 deg to 25 deg C. Stem and leaf growth was less affected, and fruit growth showed little or no response. At 25 deg juice yields were higher, skin thickness was less, and juice TSS contents were lower than at 19 deg. High N and high P increased yields compared to low N and low P.
