Factors for estimating sample-day yield in AM-PM sampling plans

Factors for estimating sample-day yield in AM-PM sampling plans

Dairy Herd Improvement Letter 56(4): 25-29

Factors are described by means of which 24-h milk, fat, protein and SNF yields are estimated from 1 sample-day milking. Data on milk yields in 966 lactations, fat and protein yields in 151 lactations, and SNF yields in 78 lactations in the 5 main dairy breeds were analysed. Adjustment factors were analysed. Adjustment factors were affected by breed, milking interval, lactation number, month of lactation and season of test.
