Factors for improving accuracy of estimates of Test-Interval yield

Use of the Test-Interval method (see abstract referenced below) of calculating the yield of milk or fat produced between 2 sampling dates results in overestimates at the beginning and end of lactation, and in underestimates for a period involving the time of peak production. Data for milk yields in 1210 lactations, fat and protein yields in 151 lactations, and SNF yields in 78 lactations were used to develop adjustment factors for production traits in 305-day lactations.
