67 anoestrous range Herefords were allotted, 35 plus or minus 2 days post partum, to an untreated control group or to 3 treatment groups given: (1) a progesterone-releasing intravaginal device (PRID) for 10 days; (2) injection of 200 mu g GnRH at about day 47; (3) both PRID and GnRH. Half of the females in each group were separated from their calves for 48 h at about day 45 post partum.
