For 153 lambs with Texel, Ile-de-France, Polish Blackheaded and Polish Mountain (PM) sires and PM dams, body weight at 5 months of age averaged 25, 26, 27 and 21 kg resp., the differences between crossbreds and PMs being significant. There were no significant differences in carcass quality between the 3 types of crossbred.
