Growth of broiler chickens after partial replacement of maize and wheat grain by grass meal in mixed feeds

In 2 experiments 6 groups of 125 to 168 White Plymouth Rock broiler chickens in deep litter or in cages, were given to appetite, mixed feeds equal in energy, without or with grass meal replacing maize and wheat at 3, 5, 10, 10 or 15% from 1 to 28, and 5, 10, 15, 15 or 20% from 29 to 56 days old. The first 4 groups were given normal vitamin supplements and the last 2, vitamins D, E and B-12 only.
