Host defense mechanisms in experimental leishmaniasis

Host defense mechanisms in experimental leishmaniasis

Cancer immunology and parasite immunology Correlation or juxtaposition Colloquium 28-31 July, 1980, Seillac, France INSERM [Ed by: Israel, L; Lagrange PH; Salomon, JC]: 349-364

Host defence mechanisms during self-healing leishmaniasis are analysed and compared with those which occur in animals developing progressive metastatic disease. With reference to the Leishmania enriettii/guinea-pig model, evidence is presented to support the hypothesis that the basis of host protection changes during the course of self-healing leishmaniasis.
