Host location in Stomoxys calcitrans (L.), (the stable fly)

Host location in Stomoxys calcitrans (L.), (the stable fly)

Host location in Stomoxys calcitrans L, the stable fly: 146 [+ 4]

A study was carried out in the UK on the host-searching behaviour of Stomoxys calcitrans (L.). Flies preferred to attack the legs of cattle, but more females than males were observed on the body and more males than females on the legs. Individual host animals were found to vary in attractiveness to the flies.
