Host plant resistance to insects and mites: a neglected but essential part of integrated pest control

In this review, a list is presented of many projects in Europe on the use of plant resistance to control about 30 insect pests on 7 arable crops, 7 vegetable crops, 6 fruit crops and 2 kinds of forest trees in 11 countries. Four examples are selected for treatment in greater detail.
