Host preferences and reproduction of four cereal aphids on 20 triticale cultivars

Preferences and reproduction of Schizaphis graminum, Macrosiphum avenae, Rhopalosiphum padi and Rh. maidis were tested in environmental chambers on seedlings and mature plants of 20 strains of triticale. S. avenae reproduced equally well on all strains in both growth stages while S. graminum reproduced more on seedling than on mature plants, Rh. padi failed to reproduce on mature plants and Rh. maidis was poorly adapted to both growth stages. There was no immunity among the strains.
