Chicory blotch virus from field chicory plants in Czechoslovakia was mechanically transmitted to Spicak but not to Slezska. Inoculation revealed the following new systemic hosts: Nicotiana clevelandii, N. clevelandii X N. glutinosa, N. megalosiphon and N. debneyi. Presence of the virus was confirmed by electron microscopy and back transmission.
