In Brazil, glasshouse tests on P. brachyurus showed that tomato and Cucumis melo were good hosts, potato, okra, cucumber, eggplant, watermelon, gherkin, Allium fistulosum and Cucurbita pepo var. melopepo were adequate hosts, whereas Capsicum annuum, kale, garlic, onion, cauliflower, cabbage, carrot and lettuce were non-hosts.
