Host range, host preference for oviposition and development and the dispersal of Bemisia tabaci Gennadius, a vector of several plant viruses

Host range, host preference for oviposition and development and the dispersal of Bemisia tabaci Gennadius, a vector of several plant viruses

Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 508: 620-623

Of the 74 plant species (belonging to 17 families) that were found in a survey in India to be alternative food-plants for Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius), an important vector of viruses of pulses, 27 (belonging to 10 families) are reported as food-plants for the first time. The aleyrodid could be carried over long distances by the wind.
