Host-parasite population biology

Host-parasite population biology

Parasites their world and ours Proceedings of the 5th International Congress of Parasitology, Toronto, Canada, 7-14 August, 1982, under the auspices of the World Federation of Parasitologists: 303-312

Recent developments in the study of population dynamics of parasites are considered with respect to intrinsic reproduction rate, parasite persistence, regulation of host abundance, regulation of parasite abundance, parasite dispersion patterns, transmission breakpoints, cyclic oscillations in population abundance, and coevolution. Distinction is made between microparasites (including protozoa) and macroparasites (including helminths).
