Host/parasite relations in Polygenis tripus (Siphonaptera, Rhopalopsyllidae)

Host/parasite relations in Polygenis tripus (Siphonaptera, Rhopalopsyllidae)

Boletim do Museu de Historia Natural da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Zoologia 24: 1-11

Details are given of the fleas recovered in 1974-75 from collections of rodents in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Polygenis tripus (Jordan), which had not previously been recorded from that state, accounted for all but 7 of the 236 fleas collected. P. axius proxima Guimaraes is also recorded for the first time from Minas Gerais (2 examples), and the remaining fleas were Xenopsylla cheopis (Roths.) (3 examples) and Ctenocephalides felis felis (Bch.) (2 examples).
