Hot water-soluble boron content of fine sedimentary and granitic soils as related to selected soil properties

Twenty-four podzolic soils developed on granite (granitic soils) and 22 red earth soils developed on quartz rich-fine sedimentary deposits (fine sedimentary soils) (0-15 cm) were collected from the Central Tablelands of New South Wales. The relationships between the level of hot water-soluble boron and certain other properties of these soils, viz. pH, phosphorus sorption capacity, and the contents of organic matter, silt, clay, silt plus clay, and exchangeable bases were studied.
