Hot-callusing for grafting dormant filbert trees

Hot-callusing for grafting dormant filbert trees

Agricultural Research, USA 30(1): 12-13

Filbert scions were grafted on to rootstocks and laid side by side with their unions in slots across a plastic pipe; a second pipe running within this outer pipe contained water supplied with heating cables. The graft unions were covered with a strip of foam to hold the heat around them, and the roots of the rootstocks were covered in moist sawdust.
