Housing pigs in multi-tier systems

Pigs (24 per group) were housed in individual cages in a multi-tier system (groups 1 and 2) or in groups in pens (groups 3 and 4). Groups 1 and 3 were given a dry diet, and groups 2 and 4 were given moist feed.
