How 'Helleri' holly responds to superphosphate incorporated in pine bark



American Nurseryman 154(12): 12



Ilex crenata Helleri plants were grown in a greenhouse in a pine bark potting medium amended with 8 lb dolomitic limestone and 4 lb Esmigran minor element mix/cu yard, with or without 5 lb 20% superphosphate/cu yard. Shortly after potting each plant received 2 teaspoons of granular Osmocote (18-6-12), or 2 teaspoons Sulfurcote (24-4-10), each applied once, or water-soluble Peters fertilizer (20-20-20) applied weekly as 500 ml of a solution containing N at 300 p.p.m.
