How do your cows shape up?

How do your cows shape up?

Dairy Farmer 28(1): 54-55

The development of new standard lactation curves for use in the Milk Marketing Board Herd Management Control service is outlined. Studies in the 1960's developed standard curves mathematically from the standard equation y = anbecn(where y = yield in wk n) adjusted for month of calving and calving number. These were updated using National Milk Record data for 1978/79 and the new curves have been in use since Oct. 1980.
