How stylo reacts to fire

How stylo reacts to fire

Rural Research (109): 30-31

The fire resistance of 16 of Stylosanthes spp. commonly used for pasture improvement was compared in trials using 4 burns. DM, max. air temp., RH, rainfall and max. soil surface temp. were recorded. More green material in the burn resulted in a lower temp., but dead material from previous burns increased the max. temp. Intermediate temp. was best for showing the differences in plant resistance.
