The study examines methods of analyzing the development of farm results and the suitability of discriminant analysis for this purpose. It first examines and discusses available studies in this field. The description of the objectives and data in the model used (based on 1959/60-1973/74 bookkeeping results from 266 farms in Schleswig Holstein) then provide further insight into the factors determining farm results.
