How to differentiate hyperparathyroid patients among intermittent hypercalcemic urinary stone formers: a combined use of immunoreactive parathyroid hormone and nephrogenous adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate

How to differentiate hyperparathyroid patients among intermittent hypercalcemic urinary stone formers: a combined use of immunoreactive parathyroid hormone and nephrogenous adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate

Journal of Urology 123(3): 328-334

Immunoreactive parathyrin and nephrogenous adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate were measured in plasma of 5 normal controls and 12 intermittent hypercalcaemic patients with calcium-containing nephrolithiasis before and during calcium infusion. Six patients with simultaneous increase of basal plasma immunoreactive parathyrin and nephrogenous adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate were operated on and a parathyroid adenoma was removed, resulting in normocalcaemia.
