How to obtain propolis

How to obtain propolis

Pchelovodstvo (1/2): 47-48

Canvas hive covers are used over the frames, and when they have been propolised down they are removed and stored. In winter the propolis is separated from the covers by passing them between rollers; it is then cleaned and made into briquettes (20, 50 and 100 g) by a hydraulic press. This work is done at temperatures below freezing point if possible.
