How we integrated sheep production into crop production

How we integrated sheep production into crop production

Kooperation 13(11): 490-492

The organization of sheep farming on the state farm at Leppin and the integration of the sheep enterprise into the farm as a whole are described. The farm is 4064 ha. in size, with 570 ha. pasture land; it keeps 2600 ewes, 7700 young sheep and 600 young rams. The complement of workers for the sheep enterprise is deliberately kept lower than the labour requirement; work-peaks, which vary seasonally, are covered by employees from crop production.
