Human milk fibronectin: identification of fibronectin fragments by transfer of milk proteins from polyacrylamide gels to nitrocellulose sheets

Milk samples collected at days 2 to 15 post partum from 12 women were centrifuged twice at different speeds to yield skim milk and whey. Skim milk samples reacted with monospecific rabbit antibodies to human plasma fibronectin on immunodiffusion analysis in 1% agarose. Plasma and skim milk proteins were separated on SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and transferred to nitrocellulose sheets.
