The presence and frequency of clinical signs were assessed in 317 patients with trypanosomiasis in 2 foci in the Congo, actively diagnosed in the field by lymph node puncture and IFAT. 29 patients (9%) had no symptoms. 76 patients (24%) had 5 or more clinical signs. In general, females showed more symptoms than males.
