Humanization of milk: in vitro influence of human milk, cows' milk and infant formulae on the growth of bifidobacteria

Humanization of milk: in vitro influence of human milk, cows' milk and infant formulae on the growth of bifidobacteria

Annales de Microbiologie 131A(3): 309-314

Raw and pasteurized human milk and cows' milk and commercial humanized infant formulae (Galliazyme, Aptamil, Lacmil, Nativa, Nursie and SMA) were examined for growth promoting activity for 34 bifidobacterium strains (13 of Bifidobacterium longum, 7 of B. infantis and 14 of B. bifidum). Filter paper disks, dipped in the test solutions, were placed on agar plates seeded with individual bifidobacterium strains.
