Humidity fluctuations over a vegetated surface measured with a Lyman-Alpha hygrometer and a fine-wire thermocouple psychrometer

Simultaneous measurements of humidity fluctuations over a lucerne crop were made with a specially modified Lyman-Alpha hygrometer and a fine-wire thermocouple psychrometer. Standard deviations of the 2 sets of data were comparable, except occasionally when wind speeds were low. The psychrometer underestimated the vertical flux of water vapour due to its slow response.
