Humidity requirements and storage of the entomopathogenic fungus Verticillium lecanii for use in greenhouses

Humidity requirements and storage of the entomopathogenic fungus Verticillium lecanii for use in greenhouses

Annales Entomologici Fennici 47(2): 61-62

The relation between daily periods of high humidity and the infectivity of Verticillium lecanii to Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westw.) was investigated on cucumber and tomato in the greenhouse in Sweden. Periods of at least 16 h at about 100% RH seemed to be necessary to obtain mycelial growth and whitefly death. At least 20 h seemed to be needed to ensure over 50% infection.
