At metaphase I, PMCs of the four hybrid plants examined were observed to have 0.07-0.13V, 0.2-0.55IV, 0.54-1.05III, 9.95-11.67II and 1.53-2.47I. At anaphase I and II, lagging chromosomes and chromatin bridges were seen and in tetrads and young microspores, micronuclei were observed. Chromosome doubling in F1 hybrids (from 2n = 28 to 2n = 56) restored male fertility and increased female fertility.
