Hybrid poplar diseases and disease resistance

Hybrid poplar diseases and disease resistance

General Technical Report, USDA Forest Service North Central Forest Experiment Station (NC-21): 75-80

Observations were made on 35 different Populus clones at nurseries at (a) Ames, Iowa, and (b) Rhinelander, Wisconsin during the 1975 growing season. At (a), Marssonina brunnea and Septoria sp. were the most serious foliage diseases; Melampsora medusae leaf rust was serious in only a few clones; and an unidentified canker disease heavily infected 6 clones.
