Many trials of Phaseolus vulgaris genotypes at (a) CIAT-Palmira (1000 m alt.), (b) ICA-La Selva (2200 m alt.) and (c) ICA-Obonuco (2710 m alt.) are reported. Av. yield at (a) of 21 climbing beans and of maize grown in direct association were 0.9 and 3.4 t/ha, with beans sown in succession among maize between flowering and maturity were 1.65 and 4.77 t, resp., and of beans in monoculture was 1.8 t/ha.
