Analysis, by Anderson's graphical methods, of the variation of populations sampled at various sites in Minas Gerais showed that the complex of plants of these species normally encountered as weeds in south-eastern Brazil should not be regarded as a single, highly variable species, but is better interpreted as being composed of two species with some degree of introgressive hybridization between them recognizable at some sites.
