Hybridization between Triticum aestivum L. and Hordeum vulgare L

Hybridization between Triticum aestivum L. and Hordeum vulgare L

Agronomy abstracts: 64

The wheat cultivars Chinese Spring and Yecora Rojo susceptible to barley yellow dwarf virus, and the tolerant cultivar Anza were pollinated by resistant Barley cultivars CM72, Sutter and Atlas 68, which all had a major resistance gene, Yd2, located on chromosome 3. Fifteen days after pollination, embryos were excised and placed on barley endosperm on the culture medium. From the pollination of 25 676 florets 15 barley-wheat hybrids were obtained.
